Deep Creek Weekend

We decided to take advantage of last weekend and drove to Deep Creek Campground. This was a trial run to test our new configuration. This was a busy weekend before the 4th of July and hundreds of people came to float on rented tube floats down the creek. It was late afternoon when dangerous thunderstorms passed over and drenched the area. We stayed dry under our canopy and tent even with several inches of driving rain.

The day before, I had replaced the fuel pump for the Espar Hydronic D5 diesel water heater. It worked perfectly! Hot showers are a necessity in our book. Now we can heat water with 12dc, 120vac, & diesel.
We had pancetta and egg scramble for breakfast this morning, with a veggie spice mix. Yum! J is an excellent cook. We had coffee first thing, straight from a thermos full made last night. Our favorite coffee is also easy, Mount Hagen freeze dried. Just fill a thermos with boiling water and add coffee. You can do this in the evening before you put your stove away. Don't get me wrong, I love fresh Kona coffee, but the price has reached astronomical heights in the last 3 years. Mt Hagen coffee is certified organic and really good for the price and convenience.
We didn't float Deep Creek, but I will bring my Perception Torrent and float it when the water is higher.
